2025 was another year of amazing community impact for DLAG – as well as a year for us to continue to recognise the incredible efforts of our volunteers. These achievements would not have been possible without you – everyone who has volunteered, fundraised, donated, supported and raised awareness of the charity.

Here are some examples of what you helped DLAG to achieve in 2025:

January
DLAG in Tune in partnership with The Jack Lonergan Foundation was launched. The initiative provides free musical instruments to young people from low-income households across South West London.

100 of our volunteers came together for the annual DLAG pub quiz, hosted at the Alexandra in Wimbledon.

February
DLAG in Uniform was launched, an initiative to collect unbranded uniforms and to redistribute to those in need through schools – strengthening our partnerships with schools and supporting even more families.

The Keep Kids Connected initiative used a donation of £1,000 from the London Full Gospel Church in Raynes Park to make available an incredible 38 Chromebooks for West Wimbledon Primary School, which had been identified as being in need of digital support.

March
DLAG turned five! DLAG hosted a special afternoon tea party as a thank you to its volunteers and to celebrate five years of making a difference in the local community.

The Furniture Team delivered an impressive 84 items of furniture in one month – ensuring local households had access to essential items such as beds and tables.

April
DLAG’s 2024 impact report was published – emphasising the difference YOU make in the local community.

May
The first of three POW DJ nights across the year took place at Bertie’s Bar in Wimbledon raising money for DLAG.

DLAG’s annual Family Fun Day brought the local community together for fun and games.

June
DLAG celebrated Volunteers’ Week highlighting the incredible effort of all our volunteers.

The DLAG volunteer discount card was made available for all DLAG volunteers to thank them for their work in the community, offering discounts at a range of local businesses.

July
DLAG released a new video covering the issues our community is facing and how we help to tackle them.

The Beautiful Grain, a new football fanzine, was launched, following AFC Wimbledon’s 24-25 promotion campaign with proceeds going to DLAG.

August
Xavier Wiggins began his epic Walk 92 challenge to walk to all 92 football league clubs in 92 days, raising money for DLAG, Sport Local Action’s Sports Bank and the Street Soccer Foundation, as well as highlighting sports for good initiatives across England and Wales.

DLAG held its annual trip to the seaside for the families we support, heading to Littlehampton, and providing a fish and chip lunch and ice cream for everyone.

The DLAG events team rounded off an incredible summer which saw them attend 17 community events, including fun days and school fairs, cost of living advice sessions, eco fairs, community celebrations and sports events.

September
50 fundraisers, including DLAG volunteers and staff from corporate partners, got on their bikes to complete the London to Brighton Cycle Ride, raising £13,000 for DLAG.

October
The DLAG trustees confirmed the appointment of two new staff members – Matt Lock, Charity Director (starting January 2026) and Laura Panciroli, Communications and Fundraising Coordinator (starting November 2025).

DLAG hosted its second DLAG in Business Partnership breakfast event of the year – an inspiring morning of networking and innovative thinking to explore fresh ways to collaborate, and strengthen our community.

DLAG received a huge number of harvest festival donations highlighting our close partnerships with many local schools.

Fundraisers Tonja, Anne and John completed the Great Wall of China Trek in aid of DLAG.

November
The Big Sleep Out 5 took place at AFC Wimbledon’s stadium – a powerful and uplifting community event that brought people together to fundraise and raise awareness of homelessness and poverty.

DLAG’s Community Kitchen opened its doors, operating every Saturday and Sunday evening at Holy Trinity Church in Wimbledon, to provide local homeless people with soup, rolls, water, snacks and fruit.

The DLAG book club and walking group launched to bring our volunteers together.

December
DLAG hosted its third Community Gala Dinner welcoming more than 300 supporters and guests and raising an impressive sum to fuel our vital work in the community.

Local businesses, sports clubs and schools made huge donations of food, household goods Christmas treats and presents, demonstrating their festive – and community – spirit.
