Fundraising for DLAG is a fantastic way to make a real difference in the lives of people experiencing serious financial difficulties. Every pound raised helps us provide food, furniture, and tech to those in need. Whether you’re taking on a personal challenge or organising an event, your efforts will directly support our vital work.
10 Ways Your School and DLAG Can Support Our Community Together
We organise and participate in a range of fun events which are a great way to challenge yourself, meet new people and have a fun experience. They are a fun and engaging way to raise money for a good cause while trying something new.

Foodbank Fridays
Demand for DLAG’s food support is rising as poverty grips many UK households. Schools support us through Foodbank Fridays by publicising and gathering the food we request. We then collect and distribute it to those in need.
Corporate partnerships
Many parents own or work in businesses that could help, from offering staff volunteer days to publicising or participating in fundraising events. We’re happy to discuss how companies can support our work.
Volunteering
DLAG relies on volunteers and welcomes students aged 14-17 (with teacher or guardian supervision), as well as parents, staff, and friends. We prioritise making volunteering a happy, fulfilling, and impactful experience.
Talks on poverty
We regularly give talks on poverty and DLAG’s work to classes or whole schools. These discussions can greatly benefit students’ learning and understanding of social issues.
Fundraising
To maintain our essential operations, we rely on fundraising. Schools can participate in events like our family fun day, or organise their own initiatives such as cake sales, sponsored sporting challenges, or other creative fundraising ideas.
Tours
Many schools visit our food hub and AFC Wimbledon stadium at Plough Lane to see firsthand the impact of our work.
Referring families in need
We receive many referrals from schools and are always available to help struggling families. If you know of families in need, we can assist.
Keep kids connected
DLAG collects and refurbishes spare laptops and other electronic items. If you have pupils facing digital poverty, we can provide devices (subject to stock levels). Schools and parents can also donate unused computers.
Furniture
If parents or the school have spare furniture, we can deliver these items to families in need.
Awareness
We’d love to share our messages with your school community! Whether through noticeboards, newsletters, or school fairs, spreading awareness about fundraising, volunteering, and donation opportunities helps us reach more people.
